Wanted Suspect with Meth arrested during Complaint Investigation at a Store off Highway 3094 in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Nate Bishop arrested Donald Shane Johnson age 35 of London on Friday evening December 8, 2023 at approximately 6:47 PM.

The arrest occurred off School Street in East Bernstadt after Deputy Bishop was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject apparently intoxicated yelling at store employees and customers at a business off Highway 3094 approximately 3 miles north of London.

When Deputy Bishop arrived at the scene, he learned that the suspect had left the scene on a bicycle.

Deputy Bishop was able to locate the suspect a short time later off School Street near Highway 490 in a business parking lot.

When Deputy Bishop exited his patrol vehicle, the suspect attempted to hide but was located between vehicles there.

During the investigation the suspect was found in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and it was determined that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Donald Shane Johnson was charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine.

In addition, this individual was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
