LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Accident Reconstructionist Deputy Brad Mink is investigating a two vehicle single traffic fatality which occurred on KY 192 approximately 4 miles west of London on Tuesday night November 28, 2023 at approximately 10:17 PM.
The investigating deputy reports that apparently a silver colored GMC pickup driven by Wesley Allen was westbound on KY 192 and crossed the centerline striking a silver colored Honda civic head-on driven by Fred Johnson.
- The silver colored GMC pickup had one occupant, identified as the driver: Wesley N. Allen, age 29 of London, KY. Allen was transported to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of possible injuries. He was treated and released.
- The silver colored Honda Civic had one occupant, the driver identified as: Fred R. Johnson age 64 of London pronounced deceased at the scene by staff of the Laurel County Coroner's office.
The preliminary investigation indicates alcohol involvement is suspected regarding Wesley N. Allen.
Wesley N. Allen, the driver of the GMC pickup was arrested and charged with:
- Murder
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Facility.

Assisting at the scene for the Laurel County Sheriff's office were: Laurel County Sheriff's shift Sgt. Travis Napier, Deputy Joe Breeding, Deputy Skyler McFarland, Deputy Byron Grimes and Constable Robert Smith.
Also assisting were: London City Police, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, Laurel County Volunteer Fire Department, and the Laurel County Coroner's office.
