LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Lyle Hammonds age 31 of London on November 3, 2023 at approximately 6:23 PM.
The arrest occurred off Callie Lane, approximately 6 miles east of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic complaint there.
While enroute to the scene, Laurel 911 dispatch advised that the female victim had left the residence traveling to a church to get away from the suspect.
Upon arrival at the scene and while speaking with the suspect, the victim arrived back at the scene and advised that she had been smacked in the face twice by the suspect.
Deputies noted redness on both sides of her face, and injuries to the suspects hands.
Lyle Hammonds was charged with:
- Assault – 4th degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
