LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed along with Capt. Chris Edwards and Capt. Richard Dalrymple arrested Israel Moreno, Jr. age 28 of London on Sunday morning September 3, 2023 at approximately 11:48 AM.
The arrest occurred just south of London while deputies were attempting to locate a suspected intoxicated driver apparently driving a black Chevrolet Malibu off Highway 1006.
While enroute to locate the suspected intoxicated driver, deputies were notified that a brick mailbox had been damaged by the suspected vehicle.
Deputies canvassed the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle at a residence off Highway 1006.
Deputies conducted an investigation on the driver determining that he was under the influence and that his vehicle was the suspect vehicle that had struck the mailbox in the area.
Israel Moreno, Jr. was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Leaving the scene of an accident
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
