LONDON, KY - The London Police Department (LPD) reports that, numerous people helped identify a man wanted in connection with a recent burglary of a business on East Fourth Street.
Stephen Higgins, 37, London, was arrested on Monday, August 21, 2023 by London Police Detective Dillon Blair at a residence on McWhorter Street.
On Friday, August 18, the police department posted photos on its Facebook page of the alleged burglar taken from security cameras in the business. Numerous citizens in the community identified Higgins as the man in the photos.
Det. Blair developed information that Higgins was staying at a residence on McWhorter Street. He was located there and placed under arrest without incident.
Detectives recovered items in Higgins’ possession that were stolen in the burglary.
Stephen Higgins was charged with:
- Burglary, third degree
- Criminal mischief, second degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
