Nearly $13,000.00 Seized, Drug Trafficking Charge during Complaint Investigation at a Business on Highway 25E in Bell County, Kentucky

MIDDLESBORO, KY - According to the Middlesboro Police Department, on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 at approximately 5:00 P.M., Middlesboro Officers Hunter Marcum, Bucky Harris, Morgan Justice, Lt. Kenny Vanover, and Captain Joe Holder responded to a call at Long John Silvers on Highway 25E in Middlesboro.

The call was in regard to a woman with an orange buggy possibly with a gun in her back pocket at the local restaurant.

JENNIFER PARTIN

Once on scene, Officer Marcum made contact with a woman identified as 42 year-old Jennifer Partin of Middlesboro, KY with the buggy in the front of the business. The officer asked if Partin had a gun on her and she said she didn't, but that it was a knife. Partin was then asked if she had anything illegal on her or in her bags. She stated she didn't.

Consent was asked and given to search her belongings.

Officers found large amounts of cash and Partin stated it was around ten thousand dollars she got from "watching an old lady in Virginia and from the stimulus check in 2020". She went on to state that some of the cash was "dirty money" meaning drug money.

Partin then told the officers that she would split the money between them if they let her go. 

After Partin was placed under arrest she was asked if she had anything on her person, she said, she didn't.

As Officer Marcum was transporting her to the police station for processing, she admitted to having Suboxone and after the cruiser was parked, Partin admitted to having something else, but said she didn't know what it was.

Once she was removed from the vehicle, Officer Marcum found a clear baggie with a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine, in the seat where Partin had been sitting. She stated it was around eight grams.

Partin was later transported to the Bell County Detention Center.

Jennifer Partin was charged with:

  • TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 2ND OR > - (> OR = 2GMS METHAMPHETAMINE)
  • BRIBERY OF A PUBLIC SERVANT
  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS

Partin was lodged at the Bell County Detention Center and held on a $250,000.00 bond with a pending court date.

According to JailTracker, Jennifer Partin was released on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, her court date remains pending.
