Double Fatality Collision on U.S. 25E in Knox County, Kentucky

GRAY, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that on August 11, 2023 at approximately 5:24 p.m. KSP Post 10 Harlan received a call of a single vehicle collision in the Gray community of Knox County. Troopers from Post 10 responded and began an investigation.

The initial investigation indicates Michael Patrick (65) of Corbin was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on U.S. 25E. The vehicle left the roadway into the median, traveling into southbound lanes of U.S. 25E. The vehicle then crossed back through the median into the northbound lanes. After crossing back over, the vehicle left the roadway striking a tree head on.

The vehicle become fully engulfed after striking the tree. Michael Patrick along with the only passenger, Katrina Belcher (61) of Barbourville where pronounced deceased at the scene by the Knox County Deputy Coroner Floyd Blevins.

Collision is under investigation by Tpr. John Hoskins.

Also assisting at the scene were Corbin Fire Dept, West Knox Fire Dept, Knox County Ems, Knox County Sheriff Dept and Knox County Coroner's Office.
