Subject with Active Arrest Warrant taken into Custody after Police Force Entry into Residence in Pulaski County, Kentucky

SOMERSET, KY - According to Sheriff Bobby Jones, a Pulaski County man is in custody following an incident that occurred Monday, August 7, 2023 on Tower Road.

The incident began when the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Kentucky State Police (KSP) requesting assistance with a male subject at a residence that had active warrants and refused to come to the door.

When the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, they met with the Kentucky State Police Marijuana Suppression Team, who stated they located over 40 marijuana plants growing in the back yard of the residence.

KSP advised, when they approached the residence, they observed Michael Dale May, age 52, the occupant of the residence, through the window.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office confirmed May had an active warrant for his arrest. Deputies on scene spoke to other members of the community and confirmed May lived at this residence.

After numerous attempts to make contact with the subject by knocking on the door, Deputies forced entry into the residence. May was located in the living room of the residence and was taken into custody, but was resistant and not responding to commands.

Somerset/Pulaski EMS was called to the scene to assist, for precautionary reasons, due to May’s actions.

May was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by EMS and Deputy Jay Picard. May was seen and released where he was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.

Michael May was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Non-payment of court costs, fees or fines (warrant)

This individual is lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center and is being held on a "Pay or Stay" bond of $1030.00.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Kentucky State Police, who continue the active drug investigation.

Additional Charges are expected in this investigation.
