UPDATE (July 26, 2023 at 1:00 P.M.) - Victim is identified as Alexis Farmer age 26 of London, KY: Deceased at the scene.
LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Hunter Disney along with Capt. Richard Dalrymple, shift Sgt. Travis Napier and K-9 Deputy Brian France are conducting a death investigation after being dispatched to a train versus pedestrian accident on Tuesday night July 25, 2023.
The accident occurred approximately 1 mile north of London and approximately 150 yards north of the intersection of Bullock Road and the railroad there at around 9:59 P.M..
Investigators report that apparently a northbound train struck an individual who was on the tracks causing fatal injuries to that individual.
Assisting at the scene were: Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling and staff along with Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London-Laurel Rescue Squad, and East Bernstadt Fire Department. Also assisting was Laurel Constable Robert Smith.
An update will follow on the victim pending next of kin notification. Laurel Sheriff's Detective Hunter Disney, who is the case officer, continues his investigation.
