MISSOURI WOMAN AND WANTED INDIANA FUGITIVE ARRESTED DURING TRAFFIC STOP ON HIGHWAY 1804 IN WHITLEY COUNTY, KENTUCKY

WILLIAMSBURG, KY - According to the Whitley County Sheriff's Department: On Monday, July 3, 2023, two individuals were arrested after Deputy Jarrett Carr conducted a traffic stop on Highway 1804 in southern Whitley County.

The arrested individuals were identified as: Sara Anne Vuchetich, age 47 of Missouri and Ledford Lawson, age 49 of Williamsburg, KY.

The arrests ocurred following a DUI investigation conducted by Deputy Carr after a traffic stop on Highway 1804.

The driver, Sara Anne Vuchetich was arrested when a sequential search of the vehicle yielded in locating Marijuana and suspected Methamphetamine.

A passenger inside the vehicle, Ledford Lawson, age 49 of Williamsburg, KY was also arrested by Deputy David Rowe for being intoxicated and having drug paraphernalia. This passenger was also determined to be a wanted fugitive from Indiana.

Both subjects were taken into custody and transported the Whitley County Detention Center.

Sara Vuchetich was charged with:

  • CARELESS DRIVING
  • FAILURE TO OR IMPROPER SIGNAL
  • OPER MTR VEHICLE U/INFL SUBST (189A.010(1C) - 1ST
  • POSS OF MARIJUANA
  • POSS CONT SUB 1ST DEG, 1ST OFF (METHAMPHETAMINE)

This individual was released at 9:03 AM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Ledford Lawson was charged with:

  • FUGITIVE (WARRANT NOT REQUIRED)
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLL SUB (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL)
  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS

At the time of this publishing, Lawson is lodged at the Whitley County Detention Center and being held for extradition to Indiana.
