WILLIAMSBURG, KY - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Deputies responded to I-75 at mile point 15 for a collision.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Jarrett Carr and Lieutenant Wayne Bird initiated a collision investigation that developed into a criminal investigation.
A search of the vehicle yielded evidence that the operator was involved in trafficking suspected cocaine.
Tyler Lyle, age 27, of Kennesaw, Georgia was arrested and charged with:
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 4 GMS COCAINE)
- POSS CONT SUB 1ST DEG 1ST OFF (DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
- DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS
- PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLL SUB(EXCLUDES ALCOHOL)
- LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION,,POSS OF MARIJUANA
This individual was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
