OLIVE HILL, KY — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that KSP received preliminary reports that an officer was shot on Monday, June 12, 2023, at approximately 3:14 p.m. EST in Carter County.
Further investigation indicates that his cruiser was shot, and he received injuries when the glass burst during the incident.
He was transported for medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Olive Hill, Ky. (June 12, 2023) — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) can confirm an officer-involved shooting occurred on June 12, 2023, at approximately 3:14 p.m. EST in Carter County.
A deputy with the Olive Hill Police Department was shot and transported for medical treatment.
The suspect is still at large. Therefore, KSP has issued a shelter-in-place for citizens in downtown Olive Hill, Mill Street, Tom T. Hall Blvd., and Route 2.
