CRESTWOOD, KY (April 18, 2023) – Republican Nominee for Kentucky Attorney General, Russell Coleman was endorsed today by longtime federal law enforcement leader Timothy Shea. Under President Donald Trump, Shea served as Acting Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and led the effort to attack drug trafficking organizations and protect American families.
“The scourge of poison flooding into our communities is an urgent crisis that must be addressed. Russell Coleman is the right choice to protect Kentucky children from deadly drugs, and I am proud to endorse his campaign for Attorney General,” said former DEA Acting Administrator Timothy Shea. “Russell was a consequential partner as we battled violent criminals and the Mexican cartels. He has the experience and integrity to hold drug dealers accountable and keep Kentucky families safe."
Coleman, who served as United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, has now earned the support several national law enforcement leaders, including three consecutive DEA heads from both the Trump and Biden administrations as well as former Attorney General Bill Barr and Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker. “It’s a great privilege to have the support of a leader like Timothy Shea, whose proven record in law enforcement has protected families from deadly drugs,” said Coleman. “If the people of Kentucky place their trust me in as their next Attorney General, I will build on the foundation of our work together to stop this poison from coming into our communities and terrorizing our families.” In addition to securing the Republican nomination for Attorney General, Coleman has also been endorsed by the Kentucky State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Kentucky Right to Life, the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), and U.S. Senator Rand Paul and U.S. Congressmen Brett Guthrie and Andy Barr.###
