LONDON, KY (March 13, 2023) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Noah Ritchie along with Deputy Cyruss McVey and Deputy Stephen Walker arrested Dustin Lawson age 38 of Gilbert St., Corbin on Saturday night March 11, 2023 at approximately 8:27 PM.
The arrest occurred at a business off KY 770 approximately 10 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible trespass complaint there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies located the suspect and conducted an investigation.
The suspect misidentified himself to deputies and upon determining his true identity deputies learned he had numerous outstanding bench warrants.
Upon arrest the suspect attempted to flee and following a brief scuffle with deputies the suspect was taken into custody.
Dustin Lawson was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Giving officer false identifying information
- Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – on foot
- Resisting arrest
In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Two counts of assault – third-degree – inmate assaulting a correctional employee
A Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court
A Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Criminal mischief – third-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
