SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones is reporting that early Saturday morning February 11, 2023, at approximately 4:14 AM, a man and woman were arrested on Murphy Avenue in Pulaski County for various drug-related charges following a traffic stop by Deputy Noah Wesley.
Deputy Wesley noticed a vehicle sitting at the post office in Ferguson with its lights off. The vehicle pulled out onto Jacksboro Street from the post office with its lights still off and then turned onto Newton Street. Deputy Wesley pulled in behind the vehicle and observed another vehicle equipment issue.
Deputy Wesley then made the traffic stop on Murphy Avenue. Deputy Wesley contacted the driver, identified as Donald Ray Brown, age 46, of Fishtrap Road in Somerset, Kentucky. He also identified a female passenger, Abigail N. Davis, age 19, of Cowden Court in Lancaster, Kentucky.
Deputy Nick Barber and K-9 "Giro" arrived to assist Deputy Wesley. Deputy Barber reported to Deputy Wesley that K-9 Giro was alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Both individuals were asked to step out of the vehicle, to which they complied.
The Deputies then began a search of the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, the Deputies located three separate baggies of suspected Marijuana weighing approximately 66.1 grams or 2.33 ounces.
The Deputies also located a crystal-like substance in the vehicle suspected to be Methamphetamine. The total weight of the suspected Methamphetamine collected was approximately 212 grams or 7.48 ounces.
As a result of the investigation, both Brown and Davis were arrested and transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Donald Brown was charged with:
- Rear License Plate Not Illuminated
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Greater than 2 Grams of Methamphetamine)
- Trafficking in Marijuana (Less than 8 Ounces) 1st Offense
- Failure to Illuminate Headlamps
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Abigail Davis was charged with:
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Greater than 2 Grams of Methamphetamine)
- Trafficking in Marijuana (Less than 8 Ounces) 1st Offense
Both individuals were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center, where they remain lodged as of this press release.

The case remains under investigation by Deputy Noah Wesley, with assistance from the Narcotics Division.
