MOREHEAD, KY – The Kentucky State Police is reporting that KSP Post 8, Morehead, received a call for assistance from Bath County dispatch on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at around 11:37 A.M, in reference to a death investigation.
KSP Troopers responded to 377 East High Street in Bath County.
Upon arriving at the residence, troopers located an unidentified male victim in the yard near a brush pile. The male suffered multiple life threatening injuries. The male victim was pronounced deceased by the Bath County Coroner, Andrew Owens.
As a result of the investigation, Kentucky State Police has identified the deceased male as Christopher Bussell 41 of Owingsville, KY.
Currently during the investigation four subjects have been arrested in connection to the victim's death and a fifth subject has been taken into custody on unrelated charges.
The arrested subjects are identified as: Shannon T. McCarty 20 of Owingsville, KY, Priscilla Ann Hunt 42 of Morehead, KY, Joslyn Brooks 18 of Stanton KY, Krystal Gail Hardin 40 of Owingsville, KY and Donald R. Puckett 45 of Owingsville KY (arrested on unrelated charges).
Shannon McCarty was charged with:
- Murder
- Harboring a Fugitive
Priscilla Hunt was charged with:
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder
- Harboring a Fugitive
Joslyn Brooks was charged with:
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder
- Harboring a Fugitive
Krystal Hardin was charged with:
- Conspiracy to Commit Murder
Donald Puckett was arrested on unrelated charges.
Additional charges are pending presentation to the Bath County Grand Jury.
