Three Suspects Arrested For Drug Trafficking In Laurel County, Kentucky
LONDON, KY (October 6, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett, shift Sgt. John Inman, Deputy Tommy Houston, and Deputy James Sizemore arrested three individuals early Wednesday morning October 6, 2021 at approximately 2:34 AM.
The arrests occurred off Sonny Lane, approx.. 6 miles south of London both outside and inside a residence there while Sheriff's investigators were conducting a narcotics investigation there.
Upon arrival at the scene Sheriff's investigators located an individual, Ramsey Jackson (top right) outside and found this subjuct in possession of:
- A large amount of suspected Methamphetamine
- Xanax
- Digital scales
- A large amount of US currency
- Two weapons -One in his possession, a Ruger.22 caliber pistol
Also concealed in this individual’s waist band was a Taurus 9 MM pistol.
In addition, after this subject was placed in the patrol car he attempted to destroy suspected Xanax concealed on his person.
Sheriff's investigators then focused on the residence there and observed a two-year-old child that appeared to be unattended and noted a doorway to the residence partially opened and no adults that answered to their call.
Deputies entered the residence to check on the well-being of the child and found two individuals in a bedroom and in possession of:
- A large amount of suspected Methamphetamine
- Xanax
- Heroin
- Digital scales
- A Taurus 9 MM pistol
Deputies noted that drugs were within reach of the two-year-old child.
The two individuals there were identified as James Bradley Pennington and Jade Megan Lay.
The arrested individuals were identified as:
Ramsey Spencer Jackson (center right) age 34 of Lincoln Dr., Williamsburg, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Tampering with physical evidence
James Bradley Pennington (center right) age 24 of Sonny Ln., Lily, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – Heroin
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Opiates
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – Carfentanyl or Fentanyl derivatives
- Endangering the welfare of a minor
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree – first offense
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Jade Megan Lay (bottom right) age 23 of Sonny Ln., Lily, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – Heroin
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Opiates
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense –Carfentanyl or Fentanyl derivatives
- Endangering the welfare of a minor
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – 2nd degree – first offense
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
