LONDON, KY (May 26, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Lieut. Chris Edwards along with Sheriff's detectives and deputies arrested four individuals on Blackwater Church Road approximately 11 miles east of London on Tuesday afternoon May 25, 2021 at approximately 2:40 PM.
The arrests occurred after Sheriff's investigators developed information on the whereabouts of Stacy O. Savage who was being sought on information that he was a noncompliant sex offender.
When Sheriff's investigators located the suspect on Blackwater Church Road, he was operating a white colored Cadillac Escalade that deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on.
The vehicle accelerated attempting to evade law enforcement, then was steered straight into the path of Sheriff's Detective Robert Reed's cruiser intentionally hitting and disabling the cruiser.
Sheriff's Investigators arrested the driver, Stacy O. Savage along with three female occupants that were all found with:
- Several bags of Methamphetamine
- Needles
- Other paraphernalia
It was determined through investigation Stacy O. Savage was living in a location on Blackwater Road in direct violation of his sex offender registration details.
The arrested individuals were identified as:
The driver, Stacy O. Savage age 49 of Blackwater Road, London, KY charged with:
- Attempted murder of a police officer
- Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
- Three counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree
- Failure to comply with sex offender registration – first offense
In addition, this individual was charged on a Kentucky parole board sex offender conditional discharge violation warrant charging:
- Absconding parole supervision
- Failure to attend treatment for substance abuse
- Use of a controlled substance – Cocaine
- Failure to report change in home address to parole officer
- Failure to report to parole officer as directed
- Termination from Kentucky sex offender treatment program regarding being a sex offender conditionally discharged regarding a conviction of rape – third-degree in Laurel Circuit Court who was released to sex offender conditional discharge and has violated the terms of the sex offender conditional discharge
Christina Cassise age 30 of Highway 3094 East Bernstadt, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
Tracie L. Johnson age 43 of North Laurel Road, East Bernstadt, KY charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
Staci Savage age 23 of Blackwater Rd., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
