LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Jamie Etherton along with Detective Taylor McDaniel assisted by London City Police officers arrested two individuals on Tuesday afternoon March 30, 2021 at approximately 1:06 PM. off KY 1376 East approximately 6 miles north of London.
Laurel County School officials notified law enforcement that while conducting a home visit regarding juvenile children not attending school, they had located a small child apparently unsupervised running around the yard of the residence there.
When Sheriff's deputies and city police officers arrived at the scene, they learned from school officials that a small child had been observed chasing a balloon and running toward a major roadway nearby and that the child had ran to the rear of the residence to an open door at the residence there.
Law enforcement entered the rear of the residence and announced themselves however no one responded.
The parents were located asleep in bed.
Sheriff's investigators conducted an investigation and learned that allegedly the mother of the unattended three-year-old child had used unprescribed Suboxone earlier.
The father of the three-year-old had allegedly used Meth the night before.
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
The mother: Regina Lee Neal age 36 of East Bernstadt, KY charged with:
- Wanton endangerment – second-degree
The father: Adam Dale Evans age 37 of East Bernstadt, KY charged with:
- Wanton endangerment – second-degree
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

All children located at the scene were placed by Social Services.
