WILLIAMSBURG, KY (December 27, 2020) - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: At approximately 4:00 on Saturday evening December 26, 2020 Deputy Chad Estep stopped a Silver Taurus on Falls Highway in Corbin.
The driver, Preston Messer was arrested for:
- Trafficking in Methamphetimine
- Possession of a rifle by a convicted felon
- Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
- An outstanding Arrest warrant
Deputies located the firearms hidden in the vehicle after a search was conducted.
Also a female passenger was arrested for:
- Possession of Marijuana
- Public Intoxication
Assisting at the traffic stop was Deputy JB Coffee.

Later in the evening, Deputy JB Coffee stopped a vehicle in Williamsburg.
After a search of the vehicle, deputies located:
- Over 2 ounces of Methamphetimine
- Cash
- A firearm
- Drug paraphernalia
Arrested was:
Ashley Sutton charged with:
- Trafficking in Methamphetimine
- Other drug related charges
David Gilley charged with:
- Trafficking in Methamphetimine
- Other drug related charges
- A convicted felon in possession of a handgun
Josh Brown charged with:
- Trafficking in Methamphetimine
- Other drug related charges
Faith Reynolds charged with:
- Trafficking in Methamphetimine
- Other drug related charges
Assisting at the traffic stop were: Sgt. Jonas Saunders & Williamsburg City Police Officers B. White, S. Hill, and A. Vanover.

In Woodbine at approximately Midnight, Deputy Estep observed a 4 door sedan with expired tags and canceled insurance for failure to maintain required insurance.
Randall Perkins of Woodbine, a passenger in the backseat was arrested after a confirmed HIT was returned to Whitley County dispatch as:
- Being a wanted person by the US Marshall’s Office in Arlington, Virginia
Perkins was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center to be extradited on Monday morning.

At approximately 2:00 in the morning after a traffic stop at Circle K in Corbin, Deputy Estep arrested Randal Shepperd on a Knox County warrant for:
- Wanton Endangerment 1st
- Other charges
