Disturbance complaint leads to Drug Trafficking arrest outside a business off U.S. 25 in Laurel County, Ky.

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France along with Deputy Hunter Disney, Deputy Travis Napier and Deputy Daniel Reed arrested two individuals outside a business off U.S. 25 approximately 4 miles South of London on Saturday evening August 22, 2020 at approximately 5:58 PM.

The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male and female subject allegedly in a red Toyota Highlander under the influence there and creating a disturbance.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located the suspect vehicle and a male subject passed out in the driver seat.

Deputies found this subject in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, a used hypodermic needle, and a large amount of US currency, and determined through investigation that he was under the influence.

In addition, deputies located a female subject outside the vehicle with a juvenile male determining that she was under the influence.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

The driver, Jason R. Boots age 44 of Rough Creek Road, London charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Wanton endangerment – second-degree
  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance – first offense
  • Failure to wear seatbelts

Kasey King age 33 of South Kentucky Ave., Corbin charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
