1 DUI, 1 Drug & 1 Warrant arrest on Pleasant View Road in Laurel County, Ky.

LONDON, KY - (July 1, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root Arrested three individuals on Tuesday afternoon June 30, 2020 at approximately 2:02 PM. 

The arrests occurred on Pleasant View Road, approximately 3 miles west of London following a traffic stop conducted on a silver colored Honda Pilot for a registration plate violation.

During the traffic stop the driver was determined to be under the influence stating she had used Meth recently. Also, the driver had an outstanding warrant. A female passenger in the vehicle was found in possession of Methamphetamine and a syringe. Another passenger in the vehicle was found with an outstanding warrant.

The three arrested individuals were identified as:

The driver-Chelsea Renée Lewis age 22 of Byble Rd., London charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
  • Driving on DUI suspended license – first offense
  • Failure to wear seatbelt
  • No registration plates
  • Failure of nonowner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense
  • Improper display of registration plates

Also, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Failure to register transfer of motor vehicle
  • No registration plates
  • No registration receipt

A passenger-Whitney Gray age 28 of Old Union Church Rd., London charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Another passenger-Austin Durkin age 22 of Byble Rd., London charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamin
  • Bail jumping – first-degree

All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
