Meth Trafficking arrests on Slate Lick Road in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY (June 22, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Maj. Chuck Johnson along with Detective James Sizemore, Sgt. Greg Poynter, and Deputy Daniel Reed arrested two individuals on Friday afternoon June 19, 2020 at approximately 3:56 PM.

The arrests occurred on Slate Lick Road, approximately 2 miles east of London after Major Johnson responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in that area.

Upon arrival at the scene Major Johnson located two individuals in the vehicle and found methamphetamine, needles, digital scales, and small Ziploc bags.

In addition, a firearm was found under the seat of the male occupant. Both subjects stated they had no knowledge of any drugs in the vehicle.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Lauren Dyche age 32 of Bryant's way, London charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Mark Gavin age 28 of Chapel Rd., East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of firearm by a convicted felon

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
