Murder charge follows fatal shooting during argument / Kentucky State Police investigating

FLEMINGSBURG, KY.  – On June 17, 2020 Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead was notified that a man had been shot at 2198 Convict Pike in Flemingsburg, KY at approximately 11:45 PM.

During the investigation, it was determined that Alison Haines, 20 years of age, of Flemingsburg, KY was having a verbal altercation with Brent Tester, 33 years of age, of Flemingsburg, Ky. 

While the two individuals were arguing, Ms. Haines retrieved a firearm and discharged the weapon striking Mr. Tester.  

Mr. Tester was transported to the Fleming County Hospital by Fleming County EMS where he was pronounced deceased by Fleming County Coroner Winston Grannis. 

Alison Haines is charged with:

Murder, First Degree

This individual is lodged in the Mason County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Fleming County Sheriff’s Department, Flemingsburg Police Department, Fleming County EMS and the Fleming County Coroner. 

This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 8 Morehead.
