Glass pipes & suspected Meth located during property search of passenger arrested with teenager charged with DUI in Somerset, Ky.

SOMERSET, KY (May 13, 2020) - According to Sheriff Greg Speck, on May 12, 2020 at 9:06 AM, Deputy Zach Mayfield and Deputy Trent Massey arrested Aleshia M. Taylor, age 19, of Bronston KY on Beechwood Drive in Somerset, KY following a traffic stop.

Aleshia M. Taylor was charged with:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08 (Aggravating Circumstances) 1st Offense

Also arrested at that time was Emily A. Weston of Somerset who was a passenger in the vehicle with Ms. Taylor.

  • Ms. Weston was arrested for being intoxicated

Ms. Taylor and Ms. Weston were transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.

At the Detention Center, jail personnel searched Ms. Weston’s property.

Jail personnel located two clear plastic bags containing a crystal rock like substance consistent with Methamphetamine. Also located were two glass pipes, one of which had residue inside it. They also located several straws that appeared to be used for snorting drugs.

Drug items will be submitted to the lab for the identification of controlled substances.

In addition to the Alcohol Intoxication charge, Ms. Weston was also charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
  • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess

Ms. Weston and Ms. Taylor were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center where they remain as of this posting.
