London, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner arrested Hopey Garrett age 55 of Hamilton, Ohio on Monday night March 16, 2020 at approximately 8:18 PM.
The arrest occurred on Chaney Ridge Road, approximately 3 miles north of London after Deputy Turner was dispatched to a non injury traffic crash there.
While enroute to the scene, Deputy Turner was advised that the female subject was attempting to leave the scene of the accident even though she had knocked the rear wheels off her vehicle.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Turner conducted an investigation on the driver of the red GMC van involved in the collision there and determined that the driver was under the influence.
Hopey Garrett was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense\
- Resisting arrest
- Failure to wear seatbelts
- License to be in possession
- Rear license not illuminated
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
