"Hit and Run" arrest after a man is struck by vehicle while walking along U.S. 25E

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy James Fox along with Sgt. John Inman and Deputy Justin Taylor arrested Shaun Nelson Brosious age 40 of London on Monday night March 16, 2020 at approximately 10:38 PM.

The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a subject had apparently been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies contacted the driver of a gray Nissan Rogue who stated he thought he had hit somebody and that he continued driving going to a parking lot close by.

Deputies Located a 39-year-old male victim from Keavy who had apparently been struck by the vehicle while walking along U.S. 25 E (West Cumberland Gap Parkway).

The victim was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of injuries.

Shaun Brosious, the driver of the vehicle, was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Reckless driving
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Failure to produce insurance card

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
