2 arrested off Hopkins Cemetery Road at Disturbance Complaint

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Gary Mehler along with Deputy Tommy Houston and Deputy James Fox arrested two individuals early Friday morning March 13, 2020 at approximately 12:48 AM.

The arrests occurred off Hopkins Cemetery Road approximately 6 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies learned there had been a dispute between two male subjects there.

During the verbal dispute that turned physical, a female subject received an injury to her hand while attempting to separate the two individuals.

Following an investigation, deputies arrested two individuals charging one of the two as being the aggressor in the alleged altercation. Both male subjects were determined to be under the influence.

The arrested individuals were identified as:

Michael Trenton Philpot age 25 of Lily charged with:

  • Assault – 4th degree
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

Logan N. North age 27 of Lily charged with:

  • Alcohol intoxication in a public place

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
