Big Rivers Electric Corporation Headquarters Receives Governor's Safety and Health Award

HENDERSON, Ky. (March 11, 2020) Today, the Governor's Safety and Health Award was presented to Big Rivers Electric Corporation Headquarters for 1,756,976 hours worked without a lost-time injury by the 102 employees at this location.

"My top priority is the health and safety of all Kentuckians, and that's why I'm so proud to see Big Rivers Electric Corporation Headquarters reach this milestone," said Gov. Andy Beshear. "Congratulations to all team members who I know will continue to lead by example."

The Kentucky Labor Cabinet presents the Governor's Safety and Health Award to highlight outstanding safety and health performance in Kentucky's workplaces. A business may qualify for the award if its employees achieve a required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness. The required number of hours is dependent upon the number of employees.

"I am proud to present this award to Big Rivers Electric Corporation Headquarters and their workers for their commitment to ensuring safety and health on the job," said Secretary Larry L. Roberts. "This award shows the dedication and commitment from the hardworking men and women who work here to promote safety and health."

Big Rivers Electric Corporation is a member-owned, not-for-profit, generation and transmission cooperative (G&T) headquartered in Henderson, Kentucky.
