UPDATE: Clay County Coroner releases name of victim killed in HWY 421 crash

MANCHESTER, KY - Earlier this afternoon Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson reported a two vehicle collision resulting in a fatality on North Highway 421 in Clay County.

Clay County Coroner Jarrod Becknell has identified the victim as Marshall McQueen.

UPDATE: February 10, 2020

MANCHESTER, KY.  – The Kentucky State Police, London Post is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on US 421, north of Manchester in Clay County at approximately at 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon.

The initial investigation indicates that a 1994 White Ford F-250 Pickup operated by David Tipton of Manchester, KY, was traveling north on US 421, when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result Tipton crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, and collided into a 2012 Gray Nissan Rogue that was traveling south, driven by Marshall McQueen, 66 years old of McKee, KY. Marshall McQueen sustained fatal injuries in the collision, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clay County Coroner's Office.

David Tipton and his passenger were transported by Clay County EMS to AdventHealth Manchester, and later airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 11 Trooper Whiles.  He was assisted at the scene by: Post 11 Personnel, Clay County EMS, Clay County Sheriff's Office, Manchester Police Department and the Clay County Coroner Office.
