KSP Charges Wolfe Co. Man With Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

Campton, Ky. (September 13, 2019) — On September 12, 2019, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Aaron C. Spencer, 25, on charges related to prohibited use of electronic communication system to procure a minor.

Spencer was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect communicating with a juvenile online about meeting to have sexual intercourse.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at an apartment in Campton on September 12, 2019. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Spencer is currently charged with one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor, one count of sexual abuse 1st offense, and distribution of obscene matter to a minor 1st offense.

Prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor and sexual abuse 1st are Class-D felonies, punishable from one to five years in prison.

Distribution of obscene matter to a minor is a Class-A misdemeanor, punishable up to one year in jail.

Spencer was lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail.
