KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Clay County

Manchester, Ky. (September 04, 2019) – The Kentucky State Police, London Post was notified by Clay County 911 approximately 2:16 PM on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019, of a two vehicle injury accident on HR 9006 Hal Rogers Parkway in the Manchester area of Clay County. The collision resulted in one fatality.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2017 Dodge Ram Pickup operated by Donald L. Holliday, 43 years old of Hazard, KY, was traveling eastbound on HR 9006 Hal Rogers Parkway.  Mr. Holliday lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line and struck a commercial vehicle that was headed westbound on HR9006 Hal Rogers Parkway.

The operator of the commercial vehicle was Eddie W. Stewart, 46, of Manchester, KY. Mr. Stewart was taken to the Hospital with non-life threating injuries.

 Mr. Holliday was pronounced deceased at AdventHealth Hospital in Clay County by the Clay County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, Sept., 4, 2019.

No drugs or alcohol usage was suspected.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 11 Trooper Don Trosper. 

He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, Post 13 Hazard Personnel, Region 4 CVE Personnel, Critical Incident Response Team, Lockard’s Creek Fire Department, Horse Creek Fire Department, Clay County EMS, Manchester Fire Department, Big Creek Fire Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Police Department and the Clay County Coroner Office
