Methamphetamine, Firearms & U.S. Currency seized during Traffic Stop in Clay County

Clay County, KY - The Clay Sheriff's Office is reporting that: On August 26, 2019 at approximately 5:00 PM Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson was on routine patrol when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on North Highway 421 for vehicle infractions.

Upon making contact with the driver Sheriff Robinson observed a firearm and pistol in plain sight.

Upon running the driver’s information with Clay County Dispatch it was confirmed that the driver’s operator status was expired.

All passenger's information was ran through Clay County Dispatch where it showed one passenger having multiple warrants for his arrest.

During the investigation a large amount of Methamphetamine was located, several firearms and U.S. Currency. 

Charles Hill, 49 of Turkey Foot was charged with:

  • Operating Motor Vehicle with expired Operators License
  • License to be in Possession
  • Failure to or Improper Signal
  • Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance

Donald Martin, 51 of Martin Branch Road was charged with:

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st (Methamphetamine)

Clifford Biggs, 31 of Gum Branch Road was charged with

  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court (Bell County Circuit Indictment)
  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court (Clay County District)
  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court (Jackson County Circuit Bench)
