Drug Investigation arrests near Keavy

Laurel County, Ky. (August 23, 2019) -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore along with Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Maj. Chuck Johnson, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective Kyle Gray, Sgt. Jack Caudill, and Bailiff Jacklyn Johnson arrested two individuals on Thursday afternoon August 22, 2019 at approximately 2:42 PM.

Residence suspects

The arrests occurred off Paris Karr Road, approximately 9 miles southwest of London while deputies were conducting a drug complaint investigation there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies found two subjects there and found a glass pipe with Meth residue, and Suboxone.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

April L. Johnson age 45 of Park St., Corbin charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Jesse W. Jones age 33 of Paris Karr Rd., Corbin charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – second offense

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
