Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Gary Mehler with his K-9 “Edge” and Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Christopher Luke Vickers age 18 of Lily on Wednesday night August 21, 2019 at approximately 7:33 PM.
The arrest occurred off Douglas Boulevard, approximately 7 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a fight complaint there.
While enroute to the scene deputies were advised that an individual had been struck in the head with a baseball bat.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation and learned that allegedly there had been a verbal argument between two neighbors that escalated into a fight.
While the two individuals were fighting, a third person – Christopher Vickers- apparently intervened by assaulting one of the male subjects with a wooden spindle which was approximately 36 inches long and was 2x2.
The victim received a deep laceration to the back of the head and was transported by personal vehicle to the hospital for stitches.
Christopher Luke Vickers was charged with:
- Assault – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
