Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on July 22, 2019 at approximately 7:00 AM Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones and Deputy Wes Brumley arrested Darren Smith, 43 of Portersburg Road.
The arrest occurred when Deputies received a complaint of a male subject possibly intoxicated on South Highway 421, upon arrival Chief Deputy Jones came in contact with the subject.
Through investigation it was determined the subject was under the influence of intoxicants, through search Chief Deputy Jones located a syringe, Marijuana and an unknown white substance on the subjects person.
Darren Smith was charged with:
• Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of Controlled Substance
• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
