Two arrested at traffic stop in London

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Landry Collett arrested two individuals early Friday morning June 21, 2019 at approximately 12:38 AM.

The arrests occurred on US 25 in London after Deputy Collett observed a Chevrolet weaving on the roadway and run a red light at the junction of KY 192.

A traffic stop was conducted where the driver was determined to be under the influence and had an outstanding warrant.

A passenger in the vehicle was also determined to be under the influence.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Scott M. Collett age 39 of London charged with:

  • Disregarding a traffic control device
  • Careless driving
  • Reckless driving
  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs – first offense
  • Numerous other violations
  • 2 bench warrants of arrest charging failure to appear in court

This subject stated he had done Suboxone. Deputy Collett noted this subject had track marks on both arms.

Miranda Smith age 26 of London charged with:

  • public intoxication – controlled substances

This subject stated she had shot up and Deputy Collett noted she had track marks on her left arm.

Both individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Corrections Center.
