Curry Branch resident in stolen vehicle attempts to evade Clay County Sheriff

CLAY COUNTY, KY. -  The Clay County Sheriff's Office is reporting that: On March 22, 2019 at approximately 9:20 AM Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson was patrolling Highway 80 when he observed a vehicle at Sibert's Grocery that matched the description of a vehicle that was stolen 9 hours prior from a local impound lot.

Sheriff Robinson turned on the vehicle and went to initiate a traffic stop at which time the driver of the car turned up Paw Paw Road with intent to evade Sheriff Robinson.

When Sheriff Robinson located the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle jumped out of the vehicle and ran to an unoccupied vehicle at a residence on Paw Paw Road with an intent to hide the keys in a tool box.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Aleshia Jarvis age 27 of Curry Branch Road.

Aleshia Jarvis was charged with:

  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking/Disp Auto
  • Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle
  • Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance
