Suspect tells Deputy that he had to do the Lord's work & couldn't go to jail / Clay County

Clay County, Ky. (February 6, 2019) - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on March 5, 2019 at approximately 4:30 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Edwards arrested an individual after receiving a Drug Activity complaint.

Arrested was:

Justin Lovins age 22 of Memorial Drive.

The arrest occurred when Deputy Edwards received a complaint of several individuals inside a residence unlawfully using drugs.

Upon arrival and making contact with the above mentioned subject -he met Deputy Edwards at the door of the residence and stated to the Deputy he had to do the Lord's work and he couldn't go to jail & that the Deputy would never understand.

Deputy Edwards determined he was manifestly under the influence and a danger to himself or others.

Assisting at the scene was Manchester City Police Officers Antonio Dodson and Jeremy Garrison.

Justin Lovins was charged with:

  • Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
