MPD Officers locate Controlled Substances during Traffic Stop

Manchester, Ky. - The Manchester Police Department is reporting that: On February 27, 2019, Officer Jeremy Garrison observed a Dodge truck travel through the junction of S. HWY. 421 and HWY. 80 with the rear license plate not illuminated.

While conducting a traffic stop it was learned through dispatch that the truck was title only.

The operator, Joshua F. Smith age 29 of Manchester, Ky. gave consent to search the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, a small container was found and inside was a clear baggie with crystal-like substance inside, a small clear baggie of a green leafy substance, and multiple pills.

MPD Sgt. Tabert Napier assisted on the scene.

Joshua F. Smith was charged with:

  • Rear License Not Illuminated
  • Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Controlled Substance-3rd Degree
  • Other traffic violations
