Three vehicle Injury Traffic Crash with DUI charge / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Miller along with Deputy Jamie Etherton investigated a three vehicle injury traffic crash which occurred on Hal Rogers Parkway at the intersection of Pine Top Road approximately 2 miles west of London on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Noon.

Investigating deputies report that apparently a brown colored Toyota Tundra traveling northbound on Pine Top Road apparently pulled in front of the path of an east bound loaded gravel truck colliding with it.

Also struck was a white colored Chevrolet pickup stopped at Pine Top Road and Hal Rogers Parkway. The gravel truck then overturned on the south shoulder of Hal Rogers Parkway. The two pickup trucks came to rest partially blocking the eastbound lane of Hal Rogers Parkway.

The driver of the Toyota Tundra was identified as Carla Reed age 54 of London. She was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

The investigating deputies conducted a thorough investigation determining that Carla Reed was apparently under the influence at the time of the crash.

She has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; failure to wear seatbelts; failure to produce insurance card; possession of marijuana.

Assisting deputies at the scene of the crash was Colony Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, and London Laurel Rescue Squad.

Eco-tech was called to the scene to assist in cleanup of the scene.
