Trooper Saves Woman from Flood Waters / Clay County


London, Ky. (February 25, 2019) – On Saturday, February 23, 2019 at approximately 9:44 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call from Clay County 911 reporting that a vehicle had been swept away while traveling through high rising waters on Chop Bottom Road in Clay County.

Trooper Logan Wolfe, along with Manchester Police Officers Ryan Jackson and Jeremy Garrison, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle about 200 feet out in swift- moving water with a female screaming for help. All three officers waded out to the vehicle and discovered three females trapped inside.

All three females were rescued from the vehicle and carried to safety by the officers.

Almost immediately after the rescue, the vehicle was swept away by the current.
