Pedestrian struck by 4 vehicles on US HWY 27 / McCreary County

London, Ky. (February 04, 2019) – On Sunday, February 03, 2019 at approximately 10:40 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a four-vehicle traffic crash involving a pedestrian on US HWY 27 near Old Cal Hill Road in the Pine Knot community of McCreary County.

Upon arrival, Trooper Harrison Wells determined that Adam Slaven, 43, of Pine Knot was walking southbound on US HWY 27 in the middle of the roadway when he was struck by a 2009 Lexus traveling southbound operated by Anthony Buttram, 55, of Oneida, TN. After the initial impact, Slaven was knocked over into the northbound lane of US 27 where he was then struck by three other vehicles traveling northbound.

Slaven was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner’s Office.

Trooper Wells is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Troopers from Post 11, McCreary County Coroner’s Office, McCreary County EMS and McCreary County Fire Department.
