MANCHESTER, KY - Dr. Aaron Thompson, President of the Council on Postsecondary Education and Clay County native, launched his listening tour across the Commonwealth on Friday February 1, 2019 in his hometown of Manchester.
Dr. Thompson's first tour stop was at EKU Manchester where he spoke eloquently about the "value of education" the importance of career pathways to earning marketable postsecondary credentials.
He spoke of the need for more experiential education programs for high school students that prepare them well for the transition to college and career such as cooperative placements, internships, and apprenticeships.
He spoke about the need for leveraging resources, building community support, and creating sustainable partnerships to benefit students.
