Boil Water Advisory lifted for North Manchester Water customers / Island Creek area

Clay County, Ky. (February 1, 2019) -  North Manchester Water is reporting that: The Boil Water Advisory in the the Island Creek area of Clay County has been lifted from Dirt Roads to William Hudson’s Carpet and all roads in between.

PREVIOUS:

The Boil Water Advisory is in effect from Dirt Roads Car Lot to William Hudson’s Carpet Barn including all roads in between, impacting around 60 customers, beginning at 5:40 P.M. on Thursday January 30, 2019.

This advisory is effective from 5:40 P.M. on Thursday January 30, 2019 until further notice, due to an 8 inch main line break.

The potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply; therefore, this boil water advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure.

Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking by bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using.

This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of acceptable quality.

Consumers should flush their own plumbing when service is restored.
