Man allegedly attempts to restrain victim with zip ties / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt. John Inman along with Deputy Josh Morgan, Deputy Josh Scott, and CSO Judy Morgan arrested Marcus B. Begley age 38 of London early Wednesday morning January 30, 2019 at approximately 2:59 AM.

The arrest occurred off Seeley Road, approximately 3 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies were met at the door by a male subject. Deputies began an investigation and contacted a female subject there, reportedly girlfriend to the male subject, who stated that the male subject had allegedly assaulted her earlier in the evening.

In addition, the female victim stated there had been another altercation where the male subject had allegedly knocked her down and jumped on her back pulling her arm to her shoulder behind her while trying to restrain her with zip ties. The victim’s daughter was allegedly present.

Deputies noted visible injuries on the female victim including blood on her face, red marks on her face, red marks on her neck and wrists. Deputies had Laurel County EMS check the victim. Social services was also notified.

Marcus B. Begley was charged with assault – 4th degree – domestic violence and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
