Loud vehicle results in 2 arrests / Clay County

Clay county, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: Clay County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Gabbard arrested two individuals 2 miles north of Manchester on January 14, 2019 at approximately 10:30 PM.

Arrested was:

Robert Vaughn age 24 of Tazewell, TN.

Bertha Williams age 42 of Manchester, KY.

The arrests occurred 2 miles north of Manchester on Needmore Hollow. Deputy Jeremy Gabbard was observing traffic from the entrance of Manchester Elementary when he heard a loud vehicle coming out of Needmore Hollow, once the vehicle was about to come out of Needmore Hollow it noticed Deputy Jeremy Gabbard’s patrol car and then went into reverse back up the hollow.

Once Deputy Gabbard made contact with the car, it came back stolen out of Tennessee. The vehicle came to a rest at a residence where the above mentioned subject was staying, the subject stated he had just purchased the vehicle and took Deputy Jeremy Gabbard to the residence where he was staying to show him proof of ownership.

While at the house Deputy Gabbard heard 2 unknown subjects at the time in the bathroom of the house, upon making contact with 2 females that was hiding in the bathroom. One subject had numerous warrants for arrest and the other was entered missing out of Tennessee.

• Robert Vaughn age 24 of Tazewell was arrested on the following charges: Clay County warrant of arrest, Clay County District Court warrant of arrest, Rockcastle warrant of arrest and Receiving Stolen Property- $500 or more but under $10,000.

• Bertha Williams age 42 of Manchester was arrested on 5 bench warrants for arrest.

Assisting at the scene was Clay County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Edwards and Kentucky State Police Trooper Logan Wolfe.
