Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Jake Miller along with Deputy Jamie Etherton, and CSO Hunter Disney arrested Jerry Rocky Smith age 52 of Mullins Road, London on Monday afternoon January 7, 2019 at approximately 12:18 PM.
The arrest occurred off East Laurel Road, approximately 10 miles east of London after deputies conducted an investigation on a blue Dodge pickup while attempting to locate a suspicious vehicle in that area.
During the investigation deputies found the driver in possession of a clear bag with a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, a scale, two glass pipes with white residue in it, and marijuana.
The driver admitted smoking meth and marijuana earlier and was determined through investigation to be under the influence.
This individual was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; failure to produce insurance card.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
