Subject encountered during a criminal investigation in Laurel County arrested

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Josh Scott along with Deputy Shannon Jones, CSO Judy Morgan, and CSO Chris Blaylock arrested William Freeman age 52 of Keavy early Tuesday morning December 25, 2018 at approximately 2:07 AM.

The arrest occurred off Campground Court approximately 10 miles South of London while deputies were conducting a criminal investigation and encountered this individual and determined that he had an outstanding warrant.

As deputies attempted to take him into custody he attempted to flee through the rear of the residence, then locked himself inside the residence where deputies found him trying to hide under a bed.

Following a scuffle with deputies where this individual attempted to kick deputies, this individual was taken into custody.

William Freeman was charged with fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; resisting arrest; assault – third-degree – police officer is victim. This individual was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court.

This individual was lodged County Detention Center.
