Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Grigsby along with Sgt. Greg Poynter, Deputy Joey Robinson, Deputy Jamie Etherton, and Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling are conducting a death investigation on Tuesday afternoon December 25, 2018 at approximately 1:28 PM.
Investigators report that apparently a woman reported missing to Knoxville Police Department was discovered deceased off London Dock Road, approximately 16 miles west of London.
Her white Buick car was discovered over a 30 foot steep embankment by a passerby and she was found outside the vehicle, the apparent victim of cold temperatures according to the coroner’s office. Her vehicle only had minor damage.
The victim was identified as Lynda Ashley Gentry age 74 of Powell, Tennessee. She was reported missing after church on Sunday to Tennessee authorities.
Assisting at the scene was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, and Bald Rock Volunteer Fire Department.
